Vikings Hold Health Advantage Over Eagles for TNF

Through SIC picks, our staff recommended taking the Vikings at +7 on Tuesday and officially placed a pick on SIC Picks. That spread has dipped to +6.5 at most books as the Eagles’ injuries became public.

Based on video and early reports, our staff knew Philadelphia would be without at least their top corner and main running back in Week 1.

Minnesota Vikings - SIC score 89.5

Coming off a surprising loss to the Buccaneers, Minnesota will play Thursday’s game without starting center Garrett Bradbury.

Bradbury left Sunday’s game with a recurring back injury and has been ruled out for Thursday.

Left tackle Christian Darrisaw is dealing with an ankle injury and is questionable to play. Given the short turnaround, Darrisaw will likely be limited if he suits up. The Pro Football Docs expect him to play.

On defense, strongside linebacker Marcus Davenport is also questionable with an ankle injury. Davenport missed the Week 1 contest and is in danger of missing a second straight week.

Overall, Minnesota has the health advantage on defense - with a 91.9 overall defense score compared to 89.3 for the Eagles.

The real advantage is for Minnesota’s offense, which has a health score of 87.1 compared to 73 for the Philadelphia defense.

Philadelphia Eagles - SIC score 81.2

As mentioned above, the vaunted Eagles defense is dealing with significant injury absences in the secondary.

Missing from the secondary are CB1 James Bradberry (concussion protocol), slot cornerback Zech McPhearson (torn Achilles) and Reed Blankenship (ribs).

That could spell trouble for a defense contending with Justin Jefferson, who finished with 9 catches for 150 yards against the Buccaneers.

It could also mean a good day for rookie wideout Jordan Addison, who had 4 catches for 61 yards in his debut.

Middle linebacker Nakobe Dean will also be absent as he recovers from a Lisfranc injury he suffered in Week 1.

With backup MLB Shaun Bradley also on injured reserve, Philadelphia will be down to the third-string middle linebacker in Christian Elliss.

Rounding up the injury report are Fletcher Cox, who is questionable to play with injured ribs, and Kenneth Gainwell, who will miss the contest with injured ribs.
