As we look towards Week 11 of the NFL season, several teams are struggling with key injuries that may impact upcoming games. At SICscore.com, we provide expert insights from Dr. David Chao, MD (@ProFootballDoc) and other top sports doctors to help fans and analysts understand the impact of these injuries on the player and team.
Has no injury designation coming off of a bye week and after being a full go at practice, he's officially available for W11 and we expect him to be effective and fully healthy
Head coach Zac Taylor said on Friday that Higgins is expected to play this week with the quadriceps injury he was managing.
Higgins is a couple of weeks into his quad strain and he's missed the last few games, the Bengals have a bye next week but this is a big game for them to avoid getting the seventh loss, he may be available at least as a decoy this week against the Chargers, Ja’Marr Chase, Joe Burrow and a banged up Chargers secondary there is a reasonable chance that he can play through this week.
He's missed the last two games with a wrist injury, and though he was a limited participant at times in practice this week, he is likely to play W11, if he's a full participant on Friday he might not even have an injury designation for Sunday.
Was a full participant in practice on Thursday with his back injury and will be available for W11.
By video and injury analysis he appears to likely have a left wrist scapholunate ligament tear, sometimes in severe cases surgery is needed, but usually even if it is it can be put off to the end of the season, we expect him to play through, be effective, be dynamic with his route running and yards after catch but it's something to consider long term at this point, no worries as long as the Dolphins stay alive in the playoff hunt.
Head coach Andy Reid said Smith-Schuster will likely be available for W11 vs the Bills, he logged a full practice for the first time since injuring his hamstring on Oct. 20 so should be set to end his three-game absence.
We strongly believed Collins could have played last week, the team admitted it was a close decision and they almost activated him for the game but decided to give it another week, they're playing the Cowboys who they're heavily favored but we fully expect Nico back this week from his hamstring and healthy for the Houston Texans
Has no injury designation headed into W11 with a rib injury, he sustained the injury last week and while painful, it is manageable and shouldn't affect his availability this week.
Has been ruled out with a knee injury that he sustained to his PCL last Sunday, he'll take this week and the bye next week to help manage but an official timetable for his return hasn't been given by the team.
Logged a DNP on Friday with the shoulder injury he sustained in W10, and after being considered day-to-day by head coach Dan Campbell, he is ruled out for W11.
