Tyler Herro Injury: Will Heat Guard Return This Series?

Despite the team ruling out Tyler Herro for Game 2, our panel of doctors remain optimistic that Herro will play in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Miami Heat’s original timeline was six weeks, but we believe Herro can beat that because his surgery stabilizes fractures and promotes healing.

The Heat waited five days after he fractured his right hand to have surgery. Delaying surgery five days is critical in this stage of the playoff because teams play games every other day, which means waiting for the procedure could cost Herro three games.

While an exact return date remains murky, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said that Herro has been working out and will be ready for action once given clearance for the hand.

Jimmy Butler is averaging 31.5 ppg, 6.5 RPG, 5.5 APG, and 2.1 SPG in the playoffs this year. In Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics, he had 35 points. Butler has been on a tear, but will need some help to win the series.

The Miami Heat's third-leading scorer (20.1 PPG) in the regular season was Tyler Herro, but he’s been unable to play most of the team’s playoff run after breaking his right hand in Game 1 of the first round.

Herro led all the Heat’s starters in 3-point percentage (37.8%) and free-throw percentage (93.4%) during the regular season.

Heat vs. Celtics Game 3 Odds

The Heat are 9-point underdogs on the road in Game 3 and the over/under is 215, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Currently leading 1-0, the Heat are +270 to win the series while Boston is -220.

The Nuggets are the favorites to win the NBA Finals at +115, while Boston is +145.

You know Tyler Herro is itching to get back, but step by step. Still it’s good to see him around supporting his teammates during this playoff run.
