Travis Kelce Exits With Right Ankle Injury
2 min read • October 08, 2023
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce left to the locker room shortly before halftime with a right ankle injury.
By video, he suffered a minor inversion lateral right ankle sprain when he planted to turn upfield, according to the Pro Football Docs.
The Chiefs announced he is questionable to return with an ankle injury.
Despite TV/media speculation, the injury mechanism is not consistent with a high ankle sprain.

The injury is on the same side as the right knee bone bruise that kept him out the first game of the season.
He went to the locker room early for X-rays, but returned to the sideline in the second half signaling that the X-rays came back negative.
It was initially reported as a foot injury, but the team corrected it to ankle.
He had it spatted like an ankle injury and attempted to enter the game before coaches caught him.
