Cedric Tillman is the key name to watch for the Vols. The senior Tennessee wide receiver had a breakout season last year with 64 catches for 1,084 yards and 12 touchdowns. He started this season with nine catches for 164 yards against a ranked Pittsburgh team.
In his next game, he suffered an ankle injury against Akron when he went for an acrobatic catch along the sideline. As Tillman was in the air, a defender crashed down on his lower leg. The injury caused him to miss the team’s next four games.
Luckily for Tillman, the team stayed undefeated in his absence and cruised to the number one seed in the CFP playoffs.
Tillman returned last Saturday against Kentucky and caught four passes for 22 yards. He will need to increase his production to help Tennessee pull off the upset.
But now a challenging game against an SEC rival Georgia is upon them.
Georgia is known for their defense, but after suffering some injuries, they might seem hobbled in the game.
Vols' starting cornerback Warren Burell suffered an upper-body injury against Pitt and has been ruled out for the season after having surgery.
The third-year RB, Len'Neth Whitehead, has yet to play a snap after suffering a shoulder injury during fall camp.
Georgia is favored by 8.5 points at home against Tennessee, and the over/under is 65.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
