Tariq Woolen Injury: Seahawks CB Undergoes Knee Surgery

Seattle Seahawks second-year cornerback Tariq Woolen reportedly underwent arthroscopic knee surgery today and is expected to be out until training camp.

While details about how he injured his knee remain murky, the Pro Football Docs believe the beginning of training camp is a realistic return timeline.

Woolen injured his knee while walking on the practice field for OTAs one week ago, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, but it’s entirely possible the knee issue has lingered from last season.

This point in the offseason is typically when routine surgeries are done to make sure issues don’t carry into the new season, according to the Pro Football Docs.

Questions arose when Woolen was not spotted at practice on Monday, but now we have the explanation.

The Seahawks re-signed former cornerback Artie Burns to a one-year deal on Monday, adding to a cornerback room that already features No. 5 overall pick Devon Witherspoon along with Tre Brown, Coby Bryant and Mike Jackson.

Woolen was tied for the league lead with six interceptions as a rookie last season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and finished third in defensive rookie of the year voting.

Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl LVIII Odds

The Seahawks are +4000 to win Super Bowl LVIII and are +260 to win the NFC West, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
