Steph Curry Injury Update: MRI Shows Pelvic Contusion, Expected Short-Term Absence

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry exited Friday's game with a lower back injury and did not return. He underwent an MRI postgame which confirmed he sustained a pelvic contusion, and while the team has not released an official timetable, early indications suggest the injury is minor. Head coach Steve Kerr said Curry was pushing to return during the game, signaling the severity may be low.

At SICscore.com, we believe the absence will likely be short-term based on video analysis by our team of pro sports doctors. Curry won't travel with the Warriors as they begin a six-game road trip Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks.

Curry previously dealt with a similar back issue in 2021, which sidelined him for five games, though this case appears less serious.

Curry is averaging 24.3 points and 6.1 assists per game this season while leading the Warriors through a competitive Western Conference slate. Golden State's next game is set for March 22 against the Atlanta Hawks.
