(Update: 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters postgame Aiyuk is feared to have torn his ACL. If the MRI confirms, he’d be out for the season.)
San Francisco 49ers WR exited the game late in the 2nd quarter after being hit high on his right thigh.
By video, Aiyuk suffered a significant injury to his right knee with some likely ligament damage.
The hit was reminiscent of the Patrick Mahomes hit on Rashee Rice earlier this season but different.
We have worry for an MCL tear and potential bone bruise injury.
Aiyuk is unlikely to return today, IR is also a potential. The impending MRI will determine the severity.
