Rashee Rice Injury Update

Rashee Rice - SIC score 71

By video, appeared to suffer left knee bone bruise early in 3rd quarter against Dolphins - remained in but likely to have lingering effects if the Chiefs move on to the Divisional Round.

Rice was injured on his 7th catch of the game when he was tackled by a Miami defender. His left leg stuck in the ground at an odd angle, causing the likely deep knee contusion (bone bruise).

The SMU product did have a 29-yard catch and run in the 4th quarter to finish with 8 catches for 130 yards and a touchdown.

He was likely able to continue because the frigid conditions kept inflammation at bay during the game. The rookie wideout will likely miss practice time ahead of the the Divisional Round and play at less than 100% against either the Bills or the Texans.

With Rice hampered, the Chiefs may have to rely on other options in the next round including Travis Kelce, Justin Watson, Richie James and Mecole Hardman.
