Quinn Ewers Injury update: Texas Longhorns Will Have Ewers Active

Quinn Ewers, the highest-rated high-school prospect of all time, has been out since suffering an SC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder against Alabama.

The injury was reportedly supposed to keep him out for 4-6 weeks. But, Ewers was announced to be suiting up again as the backup by multiple outlets.

Our Pro Football Docs believe Ewers will be available for emergency use and may have a chance to start next week. Since he avoided a break, he will be available to play whenever he feels comfortable with the pain.

Texas may not feel the need to rush him back into action against Texas Tech or next week against West Virgina, but he will likely be back for the Oct. 8 matchup against Oklahoma.

Before the Injury, Ewers was starting to get comfortable with the Longhorns’ offense after playing just one game. He has thrown 359 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on the season.  While Ewers was playing, he helped Texas get to the goalline to build a lead against a top three-ranked opponent by one point.

Ewers' backup Hudson Card has led the team to a 21-point victory last week against UTSA and has the Longhorns ranked as the 22nd best team in the country. Card has thrown 343 yards and one touchdown on the season.

Card is dealing with a minor ankle injury, but has not missed game time with the ailment.

Texas is favored by 7 points and the over/under is 61.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
