As the 2025 NFL preseason approaches, several key players are making headlines for their injury recoveries and medical outlooks. Pro Football Doc, Dr. David Chao, offers expert insight into each situation.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Thursday that Pacheco "looks tremendous" at OTAs and has "put on some good weight," we at SIC believe him to be fully recovered, the bigger concern is where he stands in the depth chart, he may have lost his role having been out most of the previous season.
There is optimism for Godwin for Week 1 after a dislocated left ankle cut his season short in 2024, he should be fully healhty, but at 29 years old, he's not quite as young as most players that could bounce back from an ankle injury like this effectively.
His season was cut short last year with a concussion, he's had several concussions throughout his career and that is concerning, he has been a full participant in OTAs but his next concussion could be a 4-week absence at least.
Wearing a sleeve on his arm during OTAs due to 'general soreness, however, there is not much lingering injury concern for Lawrence and the shoulder injuries he faced last season, head coach Liam Coen said Lawrence "feels good" and indicated that any limitations the quarterback faces at minicamp are maintenance related, as he continues to work his way back from last December's surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder.
Currently dealing with a strain in his foot during OTAs, he's faced several injuries throughout his career and this latest setback could affect his availability in the tight end rotation for the Falcons.
Has been limited in OTAs with a toe injury, and being sidelined in June does elicit some concern for his output in the upcoming season, especially for a speedy WR like Nabers, his toe injury reportedly dates back to college and then bothered him at times during his rookie season, but it isn't anything that led to missed games or required a procedure during the offseason.
There have been positive signs in his recovery from a torn right ACL, so far we haven't observed anything that could be a sign of a setback and he appears to be within a normal timeline of recovery, despite his impressive work ethic in rehab, the timing of the young wideout's injury sheds serious doubt on his availability for the early portion of the regular season.
Has been going through a blood clot issue, similar to what he dealt with in 2022, blood thinners would indicate at least three months of no-contact, if not more, it does put the beginning of the season in question for his availability.
