(Update: The Packers announced that Reed suffered a broken collarbone and will likely be out 6-8 weeks)

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was ruled out of Thursday Night Football against the Washington Commanders due to an AC joint sprain, according to Pro Football Doc Dr. David Chao.

Chao described the injury as a separated shoulder but noted that Reed is expected to avoid injured reserve and will not require surgery.

“AC joint sprained, separated shoulder — likely to avoid IR, which is good,” Chao said. “No surgery.”

Chao also noted that the Packers are likely taking a conservative approach early in the season. “They have enough other weapons, so I don’t think Jayden Reed is coming back yet.”

In addition to the shoulder injury, Reed has been managing a Jones fracture in his left foot that kept him out earlier this offseason.
