OG Anunoby to Miss Time Due to Significant Hamstring Injury

OG Anunoby of the New York Knicks suffered a significant left hamstring strain according to our panel of Pro Basketball Docs in Game 2 of their series against the Indiana Pacers. The injury occurred late in the third quarter when Anunoby accelerated during a fast break. Instead of going hard to the basket, he pulled up underneath the hoop stanchion and began limping visibly. This is particularly concerning as the injury is to his takeoff leg which will dampen his impact on both ends of the court.

According to sicscore.com, Anunoby is expected to be out for the remainder of the series and possibly longer if the Knicks advance, which could potentially allow the Pacers, currently down 0-2, a chance to come back in the series.

Given Anunoby's role in providing elite defense and timely offense, his absence could significantly impact the Knicks, especially since the team has already been dealing with injuries to key players like Julius Randle (shoulder), Bojan Bogdanović (foot/wrist), and Mitchell Robinson (ankle).

With a slim rotation that has been further strained by these injuries, the Knicks are at a heightened risk of seeing their playoff performance impacted going forward.
