PUKA NACUA
Puka Nacua suffered an ankle sprain in Week 6.
According to Pro Football Doc:
Medial ankle sprain. That means it’s a sprain of the tendon and ligaments as they wrap around the ankle. It’s non-surgical and not long-term. Sean McVay called it “day-to-day,” but we all know that usually means “week-to-week.” The Rams are staying in Baltimore before flying to London to play the Jaguars. It’s a non-divisional, non-conference game, and Jacksonville has a good team. If this were a late-season divisional matchup, they might push Puka Nacua to play at 70%, even as a decoy.
MIKE EVANS / EMEKA EGBUKA
Emeka Egbuka suffered a hamstring injury in Week 7. Mike Evans has been out since Week 2 with a hamstring injury.
According to Pro Football Doc:
Mike Evans won’t be 100%, but he might be forced into action just to give Tampa Bay something on offense. Before Egbuka’s hamstring injury, Evans likely would have sat out, but now he may have to play through it.
Evans has a history of pushing through hamstring issues — he’s “Puka-esque” in that way, according to Pro Football Doc. Expect him to suit up, even if he’s limited. He won’t be at full strength, but his presence alone could help by drawing the opposing team’s top cornerback and serving as a valuable decoy. Egbuka will be out.
CEEDEE LAMB
Lamb has been out since Week 3 with an ankle injury. The Cowboys said he could return in Week 7.
According to Pro Football Doc:
He says, could possibly, of course. He's on the active roster. He could possibly have an IR, exactly, yeah. Puka could possibly. We don't think he is. Right, Ebuca could possibly. It's only media that says he's missing time and the team hasn't said it, OK. Yeah, you keep hope alive. Will he? I don't think so. Another week maybe.
JJ MCCARTHY / CARSON WENTZ
McCarthy has been dealing with a high ankle sprain since Week 2, and Carson Wentz has a shoulder injury to his non-throwing shoulder. Who will start?
According to Pro Football Doc:
What we said from the get-go, there was some hiding behind health — the Vikings and Kevin O'Connell, very smart. This was the smart decision because you don't want to put, I know he's not technically a rookie, but essentially a rookie, playing out there. Are the Vikings going to continue to hide behind health and say JJ McCarthy is not 100% yet, and we’re gonna ride with Carson Wentz? Or are they gonna say he’s in the high 90s, that’s good enough for us — we’re going back to JJ McCarthy?
They haven’t been bad with Carson. And it’s not his throwing shoulder, it’s his left shoulder. Ankle. No, for, for, for — it’s not like it’s his throwing shoulder, so they can still, yeah, yeah, he’s a viable option, honestly. Who starts at quarterback is a coaching decision, not a medical decision.
