The midweek practice reports are out, and several key playmakers are dealing with injuries that could affect their availability and performance heading into Week 2. Here’s the latest from Pro Football Doc:
Drake London – WR, Falcons
London was limited with a shoulder injury but is expected to play through an AC joint sprain. His production could be slightly impacted, but Pro Football Doc says this is an injury that can be managed with treatment and even a game-day injection if needed.
Darnell Mooney – WR, Falcons
Mooney was also limited by a shoulder issue. Mooney missed Week 1 vs. the Bucs. Monitor practice reports, but early signs suggest he’ll suit up Sunday.
James Cook – RB, Bills
Cook popped up on the injury report with a hamstring injury on Wednesday but returned to full participation on Thursday. Asked if he would have any limitations in Week 2, he said, “Nah, I'm good. I’m ready to go.”
Evan Engram – TE, Jaguars
Engram was limited on Wednesday with a calf bruise but was a full participant on Thursday. Pro Football Doc notes that the distinction between a bruise and a strain is key. This looks minor, and he should be fine to play.
Xavier Worthy – WR, Chiefs
Worthy did not practice due to the shoulder dislocation he sustained in Week 1 vs. the Chargers. Head Coach Andy Reid said he won’t go on IR. On Thursday, Worthy was a limited participant in practice. We will continue to monitor his status ahead of the Chiefs' Week 2 game vs the Eagles.
Brock Bowers - TE, Raiders
Bowers suffered a knee injury in the Raiders' Week 1 win vs. the Patriots. The star tight end did not participate in practice on Thursday, signifying the injury could be more significant than previously thought. The Raiders take on the Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 2.
Dallas Goedert – TE, Eagles
Goedert did not practice again on Thursday due to a knee sprain, but according to reports, the team will monitor his progress throughout the week. The injury is not expected to be long-term, but it is looking like a long shot for him to play vs. the Chiefs this week.
Christian Kirk - WR, Texans
Kirk missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury and did not practice on Thursday ahead of the Texans' MNF matchup vs. the Bucs.
Jaylen Waddle - WR, Dolphins
Waddle has been an LP at practice this week due to a shoulder injury. He briefly left the Dolphins' Week 1 loss but ultimately returned and finished the game.
