NFL Week 14 Injury Recap: Pro Football Doc's Insights On Top Fantasy Football Players

As we wrap up Week 14 tonight and look towards Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season, we had some several teams are struggling with key injuries that may impact upcoming games. At SICscore.com, we provide expert insights from Dr. David Chao, MD (@ProFootballDoc) and other top sports doctors to help fans and analysts understand the impact of these injuries on the player and team.

Derek Carr - QB - New Orleans Saints

Fell on his outstretched left hand, possible a scaphoid fracture in his non-throwing hand. If confirmed it would be a season ending injury for Carr.

In addition to the hand injury that could be a scaphoid fracture, Carr is also in the league's concussion protocol after landing on his facemask in the play that he injured his hand on.

Aidan O'Connell - QB - Las Vegas Raiders

Ruled out after being carted off in the second half of the Week 14 Sunday game, was carted off in a leg cast but we didn't see much by video so the exact nature of the injury is undetermined at this time, though it could be a knee injury, possibly to his patella, he will continue to be monitored.

Tests revealed a bone bruise and there's a chance he'll be available for MNF in Week 15.

Justin Herbert - QB - Los Angeles Chargers

Sustained two different minor injuries on Sunday, a mild left ankle eversion and then an elbow to the thigh on another play, he might be limited in practice this week or not even practice, but he'll likely play in Week 15.

Jonathon Brooks - RB - Carolina Panthers

For the second straight season, Brooks has torn his right ACL, and will need surgery, he went down on a non-contact injury and will miss the rest of this season and likely part of next season as well.

Bucky Irving - RB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Went into Week 14 listed as questionable with a hip/back injury. Exited the field after receiving a knee to the back, remained on the sideline, could have returned, likely to be to suit up for Week 15.

Breece Hall - RB - New York Jets

It's possible he could be shut down for the season with the knee injury he's been managing since the Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention, but no determination has been made as of yet.

Isaac Guerendo - RB - San Francisco 49ers

Head Coach Kyle Shanahan said Guerendo possibly has a foot sprain after he exited in the fourth quarter due to a foot injury. He will have scans and more details to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more analysis to come. The team will “evaluate him over the next few days, to see if he’ll have a shot” to play Thursday night against the Rams.

Kenneth Walker III - RB - Seattle Seahawks

Has been ruled out with listed calf/ankle injuries for W14 against the Cardinals, there is a chance he could return in Week 15, he will continue to be monitored.

Ladd McConkey - WR - Los Angeles Chargers

Ruled out prior to the game on Sunday night, expected he will return in Week 15, will need to monitor his practice reports this week.

Malik Nabers - WR - New York Giants

Could be facing a core muscle injury that he is able to play through that could be address with an offseason procedure, if that happens he could recover and should be fully healthy by next season.

George Pickens - WR - Pittsburgh Steelers

Has a Grade 2 hamstring injury and will likely not play vs the Eagles in W15 and could be out at least a couple weeks

Cedric Tillman - WR - Cleveland Browns

It is a little worrisome that after two weeks he has yet to practice after sustaining a concussion, he could have lingering symptoms that are keeping him in the protocol, if he continues to miss time, IR could be a possibility.

Demarcus Robinson - WR - Los Angeles Rams

Suffered a right AC joint injury on a 56-yard catch that was called back on a penalty in the 3rd quarter, possible to return with an injection.

Dalton Kincaid - TE - Buffalo Bills

There's a chance he could come back this week from the PCL injury he'd been managing, but how productive he might be is a different issue, he could come back but probably won't be 100%
