NFL Offseason Surgery Tracker - 2025

Offseason surgeries are the norm after a long, arduous football season. Pro Football Doc - Dr David Chao during his tenure with the Chargers, he would routinely have 8-12 players requiring surgery after the season.

With the lack of formal injury reporting during the offseason, teams may not report on surgery or new injuries until compulsory reporting commences in the coming months.

Below is a list of the players who have undergone surgery and released the details to the public. Check back for more updates each week as we track this for you ahead of Fantasy Football Drafts!

Sam Cosmi – OL, Washington Commanders

  • Injury: Right knee ACL tear

  • Surgery: Late January 2025

  • Expected Return: Recovery typically spans nine months or more; unlikely to be ready for training camp.

Cam Jurgens – OL, Philadelphia Eagles

  • Injury: Undisclosed back issue causing nerve pain

  • Surgery: February 2025

  • Expected Return: Expected to fully recover in time for training camp in July.

Elijah Molden – S, Los Angeles Chargers

  • Injury: Right knee meniscus tear

  • Surgery: Offseason 2025

  • Expected Return: Expected to be ready for training camp; Molden signed a multi-year extension, indicating team confidence in his return.

Malik Mustapha – S, San Francisco 49ers

  • Injury: Torn ACL Right Knee (same knee as previous college injury)

  • Surgery: January 2025

  • Expected Return: Projected midseason return

Nolan Smith Jr. – OLB, Philadelphia Eagles

  • Injury: Torn right triceps during Super Bowl LIX

  • Surgery: February 2025

  • Expected Return: Anticipated to be ready for the start of the 2025 season.
