The Los Angeles Rams are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast on NBC.
Season Recap
The Philadelphia Eagles concluded the regular season with a 14-3 record, clinching the NFC East title. Their dominant performance throughout the season secured them the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. In the Wild Card round, the Eagles secured a 22-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
The Los Angeles Rams finished the regular season at 10-7, winning the NFC West. Despite a challenging start, the Rams rallied to secure their division. In the Wild Card round, they delivered a commanding 27-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings, a game relocated to Glendale, Arizona, due to wildfires in Los Angeles.
These teams previously met in Week 12, where the Eagles triumphed with a 37-20 victory. In that game, running back Saquon Barkley set a franchise record with 255 rushing yards and two touchdowns, becoming the sixth player in NFL history to record multiple rushing touchdowns of 70-plus yards in a game.
Saquon Barkley: Barkley has been a cornerstone of the Eagles' offense, delivering explosive performances, including his record-setting game against the Rams earlier this season.
A.J. Brown: The wide receiver has been a reliable target, contributing significantly to the Eagles' passing game.
Matthew Stafford: The veteran quarterback has led the Rams' offense with poise, aiming to leverage his playoff experience in this critical matchup.
Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua: This dynamic receiving duo has been instrumental in the Rams' aerial attack, posing a significant threat to opposing defenses.
Nakobe Dean (LB): Dean suffered a torn patellar tendon in the Wild Card game against the Packers and will miss the remainder of the playoffs. Oren Burks is expected to step in as his replacement.
A.J. Brown (WR): Logged a DNP Wednesday and an LP on Thursday as he has been dealing with a lingering knee concern. He will start on Sunday.
Tyler Higbee (TE): Higbee was hospitalized after experiencing a chest injury during the Wild Card win over the Vikings. Despite the scare, head coach Sean McVay expects Higbee to play against the Eagles. He logged limited participation in practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
Ahkello Witherspoon (CB): DNP Wednesday and Thursday due to a thigh injury sustained in the Wild Card win.
Bobby Brown III (NT): DNP Wednesday and Thursday due to a shoulder injury sustained in the Wild Card win. Coach McVay told reporters on Thursday he expects Brown will play.
The Eagles enter the game as six-point favorites, reflecting their strong season performance and home-field advantage. However, the Rams' recent surge and playoff momentum make them formidable opponents. Key factors will include the Eagles' ability to contain the Rams' passing game and how the Rams' defense manages without key players.
