The NBA season is a marathon, not a sprint. Every week brings new twists in the ongoing battle between talent and durability. From nagging soreness to major setbacks, injuries shape rotations, influence playoff hopes, and redefine team dynamics across the league. Each week, Sports Injury Central breaks down the latest updates, timelines, and recovery outlooks for players around the association, providing expert insight into how health trends could impact both the short-term box scores and the long-term championship picture.

Ja Morant - Memphis Grizzlies

Morant is working through a sprained left ankle and will miss this weekend's action. He'll look to be available for Monday's game against the Thunder.

Collin Sexton - Charlotte Hornets

Sexton is likely to miss his sixth consecutive contest on Saturday due to a left quadriceps strain. He is progressing towards a return as doubtful is an upgrade in his status from the team.

Jalen Suggs - Orlando Magic

Suggs is trending towards missing his second straight game for Orlando on Saturday. He was not given a timetable for return by the Magic.

Kristaps Porzingis - Atlanta Hawks

Porzingis will miss at least the next two weeks of action as he undergoes further evaluations for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). He was diagnosed with this issue last season in Boston. He was able to find a treatment program over the summer that minimized the symptoms and came into the 2025-26 season healthy, but it seems the autonomic condition has flared up on him again

Anthony Davis - Dallas Mavericks

Davis is questionable to start the week vs the Jazz on Monday due to a left calf contusion. Though he’s been out with a left calf strain early in this season, this specific issue is a new one for Anthony Davis. As a result, the Dallas Mavericks will take a cautious approach with the center.

RJ Barrett - Toronto Raptors

Has been ruled out of Monday’s game vs the Heat. Barrett has not played since Nov. 23 due to a sprained right knee. He received a PRP injection for his knee in early December, but he hasn't progressed enough in his recovery to return. Barrett's next chance to play is Thursday against the Bucks.

Alex Sarr - Washington Wizards

Sarr has already been ruled out for games this week, which will be in addition to the six games he’s already missed due to a right adductor strain. There's no clear timeline for his return, but it appears the second-year center is facing an extended absence.

Dennis Schroder - Sacramento Kings

Returned from a seven-game absence this past Sunday from a hip injury and returned to his regular rotation off the bench. He played 25 minutes scoring 17pts and looks to be fully recovered from this hip injury.
