Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders didn’t practice Tuesday due to a hamstring injury. He missed Sunday’s portion of practice with leg soreness as well, according to NBCS Philly.
Sanders missed four games in 2020 and five in 2021 with injuries. He’s been trying to get more reps with the starting offense, but this injury could keep him out.
Hamstring injuries tend to linger, and since the season is less than a month away, he could be hampered in Week 1, depending on the severity. Sanders is looking to be the feature back in a run-heavy offense captained by Jalen Hurts.
Last season, Sanders ran the ball for 754 yards and zero touchdowns after missing time. Sanders did play against the Jets in the Eagles’ preseason opener and hauled in two catches for 20 yards.
The team has not said anything about his availability for the rest of the week, but with the nature of hamstring injuries, he will likely miss the rest of the week and possibly the entire preseason.
