Mike Williams Injury: Chargers WR Leaves With Back Issue
2 min read • January 08, 2023
Los Angeles Chargers wideout Mike Williams exited late in the second quarter in Week 18 against the Broncos after taking a hit to the back.
By video, Williams appeared to suffer a back/hip contusion with possible back spasms when he was tackled by three Denver defenders, according to the Pro Football Docs.
The 28-year-old was carted to the locker room, likely as a precaution as he was sitting up in the cart.
Despite video of him limping into the locker room, Williams should not be hampered in the playoffs, according to our panel of doctors.
Williams had back issues coming out of college, but this current back ailment appears unrelated.
He had 4 catches for 32 yards before leaving.
As the #5 seed, Los Angeles heads to Jacksonville for next week's Wild Card matchup.
Chargers vs. Jaguars Wild Card Odds
The Chargers are 2.5-point favorites on the road, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Los Angeles is +2100 to win Super Bowl LVII.
