Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford played through a sprained index finger on his throwing hand and still delivered a strong performance, finishing with more than 300 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Stafford injured the finger when his hand struck a defender’s helmet during the game. Following the injury, he briefly struggled, going 0-for-7 on a stretch of pass attempts. However, he settled in and closed the game efficiently, including a sharp performance on the final drive.
According to Pro Football Doc, the injury is something to monitor but is not expected to significantly affect Stafford moving forward. “He had a stretch where he was 0 for 7 right after that, then he completed one or two — but how did he finish? He looked pretty good on that final drive,” Pro Football Doc said, noting Stafford’s grip and accuracy late in the game.
Stafford’s ability to finish strong suggests the finger issue should not be a major concern heading into next week for the Los Angeles Rams.
