The former Celtics guard will miss several weeks for the Grizzlies after injuring his left ankle Tuesday against the Lakers.
Smart played 61 gams for the Celtics last year while battling right ankle issues.
This season, he's averaging 12.5 points, 5 assists and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 42.9% from the field and 29.5% from 3-point range.
The 2-9 Grizzlies are now without Ja Morant, Smart, Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke.
