LeBron James Injury: Here's How Long Lakers' Star Will Likely Miss With Groin Strain

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James exited Wednesday night’s loss to the Clippers with a left groin strain that he labeled not as bad as the one he suffered on Christmas in 2018.

By video, the injury does not appear as severe as his 2018 groin strain, but it will likely keep him out until December, according to the Pro Basketball Docs.

James, 37, missed 18 games with the groin strain four years ago.

The star forward was injured on a post move with just under six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter against the Clippers. He immediately left the game, with the Lakers trailing 105-94.

After the game, James said he felt a spasm in his groin when he landed after the post move and immediately asked to come out.

The Lakers (2-9) are already down several pieces due to injury and will now be without their leader for at least the next three weeks.

Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant both underwent surgery to repair the UCLs in their thumbs and are still out a while, according to head coach Darvin Ham.

Anthony Davis has dealt with lower back tightness to begin the season, but has played in 10 of the 11 games so far, averaging 23 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 blocks.

James leads the team in points (24.9) and assists (6.9), while adding 8.8 rebounds. With the 18-time All-Star out, Russell Westbrook and Lonnie Walker IV will likely take on bigger roles in the offense.

Los Angeles Lakers NBA Finals Odds

The Lakers are +9000 to win the NBA Finals and LeBron is +12000 to win MVP, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
