Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles tear in Week 8 while playing for the Minnesota Vikings, ending his season prematurely. This offseason, free agency led him to sign with the Atlanta Falcons signing a massive 4-year $180 million deal.
Despite the Falcons drafting quarterback Michael Penix with the #8 overall pick, Cousins is currently on track in his recovery and aims to be ready to play by Week 1 and this fits with our analysis at sicscore.com.
In recent videos, our panel of Pro Football Docs analyzed Cousins' recovery progress and noted that he is not yet planting off his back foot and driving the ball, indicating that he is not at 100% health yet.
With plenty of time before the season begins in September, Cousins is making steady progress. He has been actively participating in OTAs, and while he is not fully recovered, our belief is that he will be ready for the season opener.
