NFL fans saw the first helmet-to-helmet hit of the 2022 season on Thursday night as the Raiders' receiver Keelan Cole absorbed a hit from Jaguars' safety Daniel Thomas.
Keelan Cole Injury Update
The 29-year-old former Jaguar was upright and laughing as he walked off the field after the hit.
According to the Pro Football Docs, concussion symptoms are often delayed, but it is a good sign that Cole was able to walk off under his power and remain on the sidelines.
The Raiders have yet to give an update on his status.
Thomas wasn't flagged for the hit, which Sunday Night Football officiating analyst Terry Mcauly said should have “absolutely” been called for targeting.
Cole came over from the Jets, where he caught 28 passes for 449 yards and one touchdown in 2021.
