Kansas State Injury Report: Is Adrian Martinez healthy?

The question everyone wants to know is whether Adrian Martinez is healthy entering a game where the ranked Kansas State Wildcats are underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Martinez went down in the first quarter versus Oklahoma State with a leg injury. The injury caused him to miss the rest of the game. He only completed one pass before exiting the key matchup.

Before going out with injury, Martinez was having a tremendous year throwing for 907 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions and, at the same time, adding 565 yards on the ground with a team-leading nine rushing touchdowns.

Martinez has reportedly practiced this week but we don’t know in which capacity.

Nevertheless, backup quarterback Will Howard was shown that his coaches trust him to run the offense in Martinez’s absence. He threw the ball 37 times for four touchdowns and wasn’t sacked in the game. The team beat a ranked Oklahoma State team, 48-0.

In another game, Martinez went down. Howard was 13 of 20 for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Howard has proven he can provide similar effectiveness as Martinez. But, he does not provide the level of rushing threat Martinez does.

So, coach Klein will have a big decision on who he wants to roll with. An injured Martinez, or a healthy Howard?

Also, DE Daniel Green is expected to return this week and is being judged as “day-to-day”.
