Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen could require surgery on his right foot this offseason, though the team does not expect it to disrupt his offseason availability.
Bills general manager and president of football operations Brandon Beane said Wednesday that while a surgical procedure remains a possibility, it would not affect Allen’s participation in organized team activities.
Allen initially injured his right foot in Week 16 but continued to play through the issue for the remainder of the season. He did not miss any time and remained under center through Buffalo’s loss in the divisional round of the playoffs.
Beane declined to provide a timeline for when Allen might undergo surgery, if one is ultimately deemed necessary. Despite the injury, Allen’s durability allowed him to finish the season without interruption, and the Bills remain optimistic that any offseason treatment would be preventative rather than limiting.
