Joey Bosa Injury: Pass-Rusher Ruled Out With Soft-Tissue Issue

Chargers' outside linebacker Joey Bosa limped into the locker room in the first quarter and was ruled out with a groin strain.

Based on limited initial video, the Pro Football Docs have concern he suffered a groin strain when he slipped on a blitz attempt and considered him doubtful to return to the game.

Lower body soft-tissue injuries, such as groin or hamstring strains, are especially difficult for pass-rushers to return from and play effectively because of the amount of force they use on a blitz.

The Chargers came in to the contest without three pro-bowlers: cornerback J.C. Jackson, who is still recovering from an offseason ankle surgery, wide receiver Keenan Alllen with a hamstring strain, and Corey Linsley with a knee issue.

Los Angeles heads to Houston in Week 4 and Bosa's status for that game remains to be seen.
