Jaylen Brown Injury: Errant Elbow Fractures Celtics All-Star's Face

Celtics' shooting guard Jaylen Brown is reportedly expected to “miss some time” and will likely be out through the all-star break after he suffered a facial fracture on Wednesday night.
The 26-year-old left Boston's win over the 76ers late in the first half after he was struck in the upper left cheek by a inadvertent and forceful pointed elbow from teammate Jayson Tatum when each followed Brown's missed corner three.
The Celtics, 39-16, face the Hornets, Grizzlies, Bucks, and Pistons before the break and return on February 23 against the Pacers.
Like other players to suffer significant facial fractures, Brown will likely return donning a mask to protect from future injuries.
Brown, who is averaging career highs with 27 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 49% from the field, has missed seven games this season with a groin strain and other various issues and the defending East champions are 6-1 without him.
Sixth and seventh men, veteran guards Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White, led the Celtics with 19 points each on Wednesday.
White has started 47 games this season (mostly) in place of Brown and Marcus Smart and averaged 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists on .608 true-shooting as a starter entering Wednesday.
