Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday's joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The season-ending injury comes after Higgins had been off to a strong start in training camp and creates another significant question for Houston's receiving corps.

How Did Jayden Higgins Tear His ACL?

Higgins suffered the injury during red-zone 11-on-11 drills Tuesday. The 2025 second-round pick was running a route in the end zone when he fell awkwardly and injured his knee.

Further evaluation revealed the torn ACL, ending Higgins' second NFL season before it began.

What Higgins' Injury Means for the Texans

Higgins was coming off a promising rookie season in which he started 10 games and recorded 525 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

His absence could put additional importance on Tank Dell's return to the Texans' offense. Dell is working his way back from the serious knee injury he suffered in December 2024, which included a dislocated kneecap, torn ACL, torn MCL, torn LCL and meniscus damage. The injury caused him to miss the entire 2025 season.

With Higgins now sidelined for the year, Dell's health and continued recovery become even more important for Houston's receiving corps entering the 2026 season.
