The Jacksonville Jaguars enter mandatory minicamp with most of their core players trending in the right direction, but several notable injury situations remain worth monitoring. Travis Hunter continues working his way back from the knee injury that ended his rookie season and is expected to remain limited during minicamp, while Jourdan Lewis and Cole Van Lanen are also progressing through their recoveries. On the positive side, Brian Thomas Jr. and Josh Hines-Allen enter the summer healthy and expected to play major roles in 2026.
Travis Hunter - Knee
Hunter is fully recovered from the knee injury that ended his rookie season after just seven games. The first-round pick was a full participant throughout minicamp and has reportedly progressed well during his rehab. The Jaguars expect Hunter to be a full go for training camp, where he is anticipated to continue preparing for his unique two-way role on both offense and defense.
Cole Van Lanen - Knee
Van Lanen remains sidelined during Jaguars OTAs as he continues recovering from a significant right knee injury suffered in Week 18 that ultimately caused him to miss the postseason. The offensive lineman is focused on rehabilitation and has not returned to full on-field work, instead participating in limited activities while working his way back. Head coach Liam Coen mentioned that Van Lanen's rehabilitation is a "bit longer" process, potentially keeping him limited during the early phases of training camp.
Jourdan Lewis - Foot
Lewis has been dealing with a foot injury that limited his participation during the offseason program. The veteran cornerback worked on the side during minicamp as Jacksonville managed his workload. The expectation is that Lewis will ramp up for training camp, and there have been no indications that the injury will impact his availability for the start of the season.
Brian Thomas Jr. - Ankle, Shoulder
Thomas enters the 2026 season healthy after playing through multiple injuries last year, including ankle, shoulder, and wrist issues. The young receiver has been a standout during Jaguars OTAs, consistently making highlight-reel catches and building chemistry with Trevor Lawrence. After a productive offseason focused on recovery and conditioning, Thomas is expected to be a full participant at mandatory minicamp and appears poised for a breakout campaign.
Josh Hines-Allen - Shoulder
Hines-Allen enters the 2026 season healthy after battling a late-season illness and shoulder issue that briefly limited him during the 2025 campaign. Although he missed an early OTA session, he has since returned and is participating in team activities. There are no significant injury concerns at this time, and he is expected to be a full participant at mandatory minicamp as he prepares for another key role in the Jaguars' defense.
