It was reported on June 10 that Tyrese Haliburton is dealing with a lower leg issue but said he will play in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Thunder tonight June 11.
According to Dr David Chao - Pro Football Doc and the team of former Pro Sports team doctors at Sports Injury Central Tyrese Haliburton is dealing with a right Achilles tendinitis in the NBA Finals.
The diagnosis is supported by visible KT tape at practice, his noticeable limp after Game 2, and his reduced explosiveness in the first two games—despite a clutch game-winner in Game 1. This type of injury is likely to limit his burst, defensive ability, rebounding, and elevation on jump shots.
Haliburton's scoring average has dropped from the twenties to the teens, matching the expected impact of Achilles tendinitis. While he is expected to continue playing through the pain, Sports Injury Central gives Haliburton a SIC score of 81, meaning he’s projected to play at 81% of his usual output for Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
