The NFL 2025 season opens with a primetime showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. Both teams have now released their final injury reports, and we know exactly who will and won’t be on the field Thursday night in Philadelphia
Philadelphia Eagles Final Injury Report
The Eagles enter Week 1 relatively healthy but will be without backup quarterback Tanner McKee, who has been ruled OUT with a right thumb injury. Recently acquired Sam Howell will serve as the backup QB to Jalen Hurts.
All other players on the report were full participants and are expected to play:
Jalen Carter – DL – Shoulder (Full)
Landon Dickerson – G – Back (Full)
Andrew Mukuba – DB – Hamstring (Full)
Joshua Uche – LB – Groin (Full)
The good news for Eagles fans: key starters like Carter and Dickerson will be ready to go, keeping Philadelphia’s trenches at full strength.
Dallas Cowboys Final Injury Report
Dallas will be missing interior defender.
Perrion Winfrey – DT – Back (Out)
Three other Cowboys who were listed earlier in the week are good to go after full practices:
Trevon Diggs – CB – Knee (Full)
Tyler Guyton – T – Knee (Full)
Brevin Spann-Ford – TE – Ankle (Full)
In addition to their injury report, the Cowboys will be without Micah Parsons, who was traded last week to the Green Bay Packers, a blockbuster move that leaves a major hole in Dallas’ pass rush heading into Week 1.
Matchup Outlook & Injury Edge
Both teams enter the season opener with their stars available, but the Eagles hold a slight health advantage thanks to their clean report outside of McKee. The Cowboys’ defensive depth takes another hit with Winfrey sidelined and Parsons no longer on the roster, which could tip the balance toward Philadelphia’s run-heavy approach early.
With both offensive lines nearly at full strength, expect a hard-fought battle in the trenches — and a fittingly physical start to the 2025 NFL season.
