Desmond Bane Ankle Injury Update

The Memphis Grizzlies are facing dealing with more key player injuries as the team announced that Desmond Bane will be out for a minimum of six weeks due to a Grade 3 left ankle sprain sustained against the LA Clippers on January 12.

Bane has been having a great year, averaging 24.4 points, 5.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 34.5 minutes per game over 37 appearances.

With Bane out expect Vince Williams, Ziaire Williams and John Konchar to see increased playing time.

Memphis Grizzlies Injuries

Ja Morant is sidelined for the season, and additionally, Jake LaRavia faces a Grade 2 high left ankle sprain, requiring a three-week re-evaluation after the January 13 game versus the New York Knicks.

This unfortunate turn follows a turbulent season that began with Morant's 25-game suspension, who returned briefly for nine games before a season-ending shoulder surgery. The Grizzlies now navigate the absence of Morant, Bane, and other contributors like Marcus Smart (finger) and Jake LaRavia.

Despite a promising 6-3 record upon Morant's return, the team sits at 15-25, facing huge challenges without these key players. Our Grizzlies team SIC Health Score of 51 is one of the lowest we have over two plus seasons of analyzing the NBA

The impact of these extended absences will make a late-season playoff push challenging.
