San Francisco 49ers dynamic wideout Deebo Samuel did not practice Wednesday with a left ankle injury, but will play in the NFC Championship against the Eagles, according to the Pro Football Docs.
Upon video review of Sunday’s Divisional Round win, Samuel did not appear to suffer a new ankle injury on his 4 catches and 4 carries.
His absence from practice Wednesday is likely due to lingering effects from his Week 14 left high ankle sprain, according to the Pro Football Docs. Samuel carries a SIC score of 89 and should get full usage against the Eagles.
When asked about Samuel’s ankle injury, head coach Kyle Shanahan said: “It’s been there for a little bit and I think he’ll be alright but it concerned us enough to not let him go today.”
The 27-year-old dual threat had 4 carries for 11 yards against the Cowboys, his most rushes since suffering the high ankle sprain in Week 14. He also had 45 yards on 4 catches from 7 targets.
Expect the fourth-year receiver to return to practice Thursday or Friday and play full snaps on Sunday, according to the Pro Football Docs.
Running backs Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell will be the more interesting injuries to watch this week for the 49ers.

The 49ers are 2.5-point underdogs on the road and the over/under is 46.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Eagles are the favorite to win Super Bowl LVII with Kansas City at +230, the Bengals at +250 and the 49ers at +320.
