Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane left Sunday’s Week 14 matchup against the New York Jets after suffering an apparent rib injury late in the second quarter at MetLife Stadium. Achane was evaluated in the blue medical tent before walking gingerly to the locker room with trainers. The team later announced his status as questionable to return however given the injury location, we expect Achane to not return.

Before exiting, Achane was off to a dominant start, producing 105 total yards and a touchdown on just eight touches as Miami built a 21–7 lead near the two-minute warning of the first half.

With Achane sidelined, second-year running back Jaylen Wright took over the Dolphins’ backfield duties. Wright, a former Tennessee standout, logged 8 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown in the first half as Miami continued its strong offensive performance.

The Dolphins are expected to provide further updates on Achane’s injury following additional evaluation.

At Sports Injury Central, we expect his availability to be in question for Week 15 when the Dolphins play on Monday night against the Steelers.
