Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams is expected to return Saturday after missing the past three games with an aggravated hamstring injury.
Adams was sidelined as the Rams went 1–2 during his absence, underscoring his importance to an offense that leans heavily on his presence in high-leverage situations. The veteran receiver was held out to avoid further aggravation ahead of a postseason push.
Dr. David Chao, Pro Football Doc, said the decision to sit Adams was directly tied to the timing and stakes of the upcoming game.
“It’s 100 percent a playoff game — he’s playing,” Chao said. “That’s why he wasn’t playing this week. You don’t want to risk aggravation. Davante Adams will be in 100 percent. Now, is he 100 percent healthy for all his nine routes? We’ll see. But he’s certainly healthy enough to play, and his red-zone targets are extremely valuable.”
The Rams travel to face the Carolina Panthers on Saturday in the Wild Card round, and Adams’ return provides a major boost as Los Angeles looks to finish the regular season strong.
Despite missing time, Adams has been one of the league’s most productive scoring threats this season. He has recorded 60 receptions for 789 yards and 14 touchdowns. His availability significantly alters defensive game plans, particularly in the red zone, where Adams remains one of quarterback Matthew Stafford’s most trusted targets as the Los Angeles Rams prepare for their postseason run.
