Dak Prescott Injury: Ankle Issue Not a Concern Week 1 vs Bucs

The Cowboys listed quarterback Dak Prescott as a limited participant in practice on Thursday because of an issue with his surgically-repaired right ankle.

Prescott's swtich to new Jordan 11s likely irritated the screws and plates still in his ankle, according to the Pro Football Docs, and is not a cause for concern ahead of the season-opener.

Dak Prescott Injury Update

Prescott, the highest-paid Jordan brand NFL player, said after practice that he will switch back from his new high-tops back to his well-worn Jordan 1s.

The pro-bowl signal-caller had hardware placed to repair his October 2020 fractured and dislocated right ankle and will likely have them removed next offseason because his bone will be sufficiently healed.

The Cowboys have been preparing all offseason with this season-opener against the Buccaneers front-of-mind. Because of that, this week isn't a normal week of practice and missing half of a day is no hindrance.

The 29-year-old has an SIC score of 93 after a full offseason of true growth after spending spring and summer 2021 regaining strength in his lower leg.
