Cowboys vs. Buccaneers Week 1 Injury Report

Injuries on both teams offenses will dictate how effective each quarterback can be in their opening game.

Dallas Cowboys- SIC Score 90.3

Star Quarterback Dak Prescott was limited in practice on Thursday because of a sore ankle. He said the ailment was caused by wearing a new pair of cleats to practice. He has no injury designation going into the team's Sunday night game.

Michael Gallup is recovering from a torn ACL that he got surgery on in February. This week he was a limited participant in every practice. But has been ruled out for week one.

Jayron Kearse got a new contract with the Cowboys this off-season. During training camp, he battled neck and back injuries. The neck injury has caused him to be listed as questionable by the team.

Jourdan Lewis has a hamstring injury that he’s recovering from. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. He’s been scratched off the injury report and is expected to be close to fully healthy going into the team's game.

Tyron Smith suffered an avulsion fracture in his left knee and a torn hamstring during the last week of the preseason. He is reportedly going to be out until at least December. The team signed veteran free agent Jason Peters but will start the season with rookie Tyler Smith starting at left tackle.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers- SIC Score 89

Chris Godwin, who ruptured his ACL in a late-season game versus the New Orleans Saints, has begun running without a knee brace. The Pro Football Docs are not optimistic about his chances of starting Week 1 on the active roster. If he is activated, look for a minimal role.

A hamstring injury has plagued Zyon McCollum for the tail end of training camp. The injury will cost him a chance to play in week one. He has been ruled out after not practicing all week.

Tom Brady requested the Buccaneers to sign Russell Gage as part of his wide receiver trio. But, throughout the off-season, Gage has been recovering from a hamstring injury that has caused him to be limited in practice all week. He is officially listed as questionable.

Cowboys vs. Buccaneers Week 1 Odds

The Buccaneers are 2.5-point favorites over the Cowboys, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, and the over/under is 50.5.
