Connor McGovern Injury: Cowboys Lose LG to Likely High Ankle Sprain

The Cowboys potentially lost another staring offensive lineman in their first series of the season after left guard Connor McGovern suffered an apparent right ankle injury.

Based on video, the Pro Football Docs believe that McGovern likely suffered a high ankle sprain and could miss several weeks.

The 24-year-old had his right leg rolled up on by a falling William Gholston while Gholston was brining down Ezekiel Elliott. He had to be helped off the field.

McGovern was playing left guard in place of rookie Tyler Smith, who is starting at left tackle in place of injured Tyron Smith while Dallas awaits the debut of 41-year-old Jason Peters.

The Cowboys face the 0-1 Bengals in Week 2 and play a Monday night contest against the Giants in New York in Week 3.
