Will Kawhi Leonard Play Game 1 Versus the Dallas Mavericks?

Update: Kawhi Leonard missed game 1 of the Clippers series vs. the Mavericks.

Los Angeles Clippers Forward Kawhi Leonard received a PRP injection in early April with the hope of returning for the 1st round of the NBA playoffs.

Clippers Head Coach Tyronn Lue said, “I’m preparing to have him on the court. We just take it day by day. He’s getting better and we’ll see how much he continues to progress.”

PRP injections take approximately two weeks to fully take effect. Pro Basketball Doc believes even if Leonard received the injection on April 1st, Sunday wouldn't be a guarantee for Leonard to fully be effective or suited up. There is a chance Leonard can play in the 1st round vs. the Mavericks but we don't expect him to suit up on Sunday.

Leonard has not played since March 31st because of inflammation in his surgically repaired right knee. This season Leonard managed his healthiest season since joining the Clippers, playing in 68 games (his most since 2017) and playing a career-high 34.3 minutes per game.

This season the Clippers went 7-7 without Leonard and 4-4 without him in the eight games he missed in April.
