The Buffalo Bills will travel to Denver on Saturday to face the top-seeded Denver Broncos, but they will do so significantly shorthanded at wide receiver and on a compressed schedule.
Buffalo’s already thin receiving corps has been hit hard by injuries. In the Wild Card Round, Tyrell Shavers tore his ACL, yet remarkably played the entire second half with the injury. Gabe Davis also suffered a torn ACL, further depleting the group. Before the Bills’ Wild Card game, the team placed Josh Palmer on injured reserve, removing another option from the rotation.
That leaves Buffalo with a limited group of available receivers. Khalil Shakir led the team with 72 catches for 719 yards during the regular season. Keon Coleman had an inconsistent role, being benched multiple times and listed as a healthy scratch for four games. Brandin Cooks, signed in late November after being released by the Saints, rounds out the group despite having minimal time to integrate into the offense.
The Bills are on a short week after playing on Sunday and must travel to Denver for a Saturday matchup at altitude. The Broncos present a difficult defensive test, ranking seventh in pass defense and allowing the third-fewest points per game during the 2025 season.
With limited receiving depth, a short turnaround, and one of the league’s stingiest defenses awaiting, Buffalo faces a steep test as it looks to advance on the road.
