Baltimore Ravens' Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers by video sustained a right knee LCL sprain during the team's 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 18.
The injury occurred early in the second quarter when Flowers caught a short pass and fell awkwardly, immediately clutching his right knee. He was assisted off the field and did not return to the game.
Head Coach John Harbaugh addressed the situation post-game, stating that Flowers would undergo an MRI to determine the injury's severity. "It's something that he has a chance to be OK with, but we'll probably have more details after an MRI tomorrow morning," Harbaugh said.
Initial reports suggest that Flowers may have suffered a knee sprain, which, while not considered major, could jeopardize his availability for the Ravens' upcoming playoff game. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted that there is a possibility Flowers could miss the first round of the playoffs.
Pro Football Doc believes Flowers availability for next week will be in question.
Flowers has been a pivotal component of Baltimore's offense this season, leading the team with 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns. His performance earned him his first Pro Bowl selection, making him the first wide receiver in franchise history to receive this honor.
The Ravens concluded the regular season with a 12-5 record, clinching the AFC North title and securing the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. They are set to host a wild-card round game, with Flowers' status remaining a critical factor for their postseason aspirations.
As the team awaits the MRI results, fans and analysts alike are hopeful for a positive outcome, given Flowers' significant contributions to the Ravens' offense throughout the season.
