5 NFL Injury Storylines to Watch in Week 10

Will Josh Allen Elbow Injury Limit Bills’ QB?

Dual-threat dynamo Josh Allen appeared to suffer a right elbow UCL sprain with a possible associated ulnar nerve injury on the final drive of the Bills’ divisional loss to the Jets, according to the Pro Football Docs.

The Docs believe the elbow injury is a concern moving forward for the big-armed quarterback, who said after the game there was a “slight pain” in his elbow.

Allen threw 34 times for 205 yards with two interceptions and five sacks taken against the Jets and will face the Vikings who have won six games in a row and allow 257 passing yards per game with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Packers’ Rashan Gary, Eric Stokes Leave With Knee Injuries

During their divisional loss to the Lions, Packers’ linebacker Rashan Gary appeared to suffer a torn right ACL and No. 2 cornerback Eric Stokes suffered a right knee injury and was spotted with crutches and a walking boot after the game.

Gary’s injury, which would end his season, occurred when he attempted to rapidly change direction on an interception, while Stokes had his leg rolled up on by an offensive lineman while making a tackle.

The 23-year-old will likely undergo further tests, but the knee/ankle designations signals a potential MCL sprain, which can involve a high-ankle component.

Who Will Aaron Rodgers Throw to vs. Cowboys?

No. 1 wideout Allen Lazard returned to the tune of a 4/87/1 line against the Lions but rookie receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson could each miss multiple games with a high-ankle sprain and concussion, respectively, and running back Aaron Jones was pulled in the third quarter with a left ankle sprain.

Doubs, who went down on the Packers’ first offensive play of the game, will almost certainly be unavailable against the Cowboys, and Watson will likely miss the game after suffering his second concussion in as many weeks.

Jones’ prognosis is more difficult to project, as the Docs did not see evidence of a significant injury, and it will likely depend on swelling.

The running back, donning a walking boot of his own, said he could have returned to the game but the medical staff kept him out.

Will Jonathan Taylor or Deon Jackson Start for Colts in Week 10?

Colts’ running back Deon Jackson briefly left Sunday’s loss with a likely left knee bone bruise and returned to the contest.

Jackson rushed 11 times for 23 yards in place of starting back Jonathan Taylor, who missed his second game this season with a lingering right ankle sprain.

The Docs believe that both backs are likely to miss next week against the Raiders, Jackson because a bone bruise is a multi-week injury and Taylor because Indianapolis will air on the side of caution with its franchise player.

Adam Thielen, Cam Dantzler Leave with Ankle Injuries

The Vikings pushed their lead in the NFC North with a win on Sunday but wide receiver Adam Thielen suffered a right ankle sprain in the fourth quarter – unrelated to the ankle sprain that ended his 2021 season – and cornerback Cameron Dantzler suffered an ankle sprain as well.

Thielen didn't return to the game but his sprain wasn't severe and his availability against the Bills will depend on the level of swelling. Dantzler will undergo an MRI and would have the challenge of battling Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, and the rest of Buffalo's explosive passing offense.

The Packers must be about out of walking boots and crutches: Aaron Jones: left foot in boot. Romeo Doubs: right foot in boot plus crutches. Eric Stokes: right foot in boot plus crutches.
