The 2026 Masters Tournament is upon us, and while the pristine fairways of Augusta National are ready, several top golfers arrive with lingering injury concerns.

As always, injuries are a critical x-factor in major championships, and this year is no different.

From world-class veterans to rising stars, a number of players either enter the field at less than 100% or have already withdrawn.

Injury Report: 2026 PGA Masters Golfers to Watch - Who鈥檚 Playing Hurt and Who鈥檚 Out

Collin Morikawa

The most relevant current concern. He tweaked his back at The Players after just one hole, and later withdrew from the Valero tune-up, creating real uncertainty entering Augusta. Before that, Morikawa had been one of the best players on Tour in 2026, with a win at Pebble, T7 The Genesis Invitational at Riviera, and fifth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. Morikawa is taking it day by day and he has dealt with back issues in the past, including when he withdrew from the 2023 Memorial before the final round.

Rory McIlroy

Recent back injury questions remain part of the pre-Masters conversation after he withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in early March, though his play afterward suggested improvement. His 2026 form is still elite even without a win, and he remains one of the top contenders at Augusta. ESPN's Marty Smith has watched McIlroy practice this week and stated McIlroy will be a "full go".

Aaron Rai

Withdrew from Houston citing a neck injury, making him a clear injury-watch name this week. His 2026 performance has been below baseline, and the injury adds more concern.

Sungjae Im

Missed the start of the 2026 season due to a right wrist injury and has not fully regained form despite a brief Valspar push.

Justin Thomas

Returned this season after off-season back surgery. He flashed with a T8 at The Players, but his form has still been uneven.

Daniel Berger

Returned from a lengthy back-related absence and has looked much sharper since getting back to full-time play. His Masters profile suggests his ball-striking remains good enough to compete, even if the injury gap interrupted his career momentum.

Ryan Fox

Enters Augusta as a player whose recent form was disrupted by kidney-stone surgery. The procedure forced him out of The Players and stalled what had been a promising early-2026 run after a T7 at Riviera.

Marco Penge

Penge has had a slow start to 2026 was tied to two health issues: a painful neck injury that limited his preparation and a lingering viral illness that delayed his PGA Tour debut and kept him out of the first two events of the season.

Tiger Woods (OUT)

Woods who had been managing back and Achilles injuries announced that he will be "stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health."
