Once a preseason All-American and projected first-round pick, Kevin Winston Jr.’s junior season at Penn State was cut short by a partial ACL tear in September. But after surgery and months of rehab, Winston is back on track — and turning heads.
At Penn State’s Pro Day, just five months removed from knee surgery, Winston ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.45–4.50 second range, a time that would’ve ranked among the top 10 safeties at the NFL Combine. He told reporters he expects to be fully ready for training camp this summer.
In three seasons with the Nittany Lions, Winston posted 89 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. currently ranks him as the No. 4 safety in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
