2023 NFL Playoffs: Injury-Based Wild Card DFS Picks

Stefon Diggs, Projected FanDuel Points 14.62 ($8,600)

Stefon Diggs has been Josh Allen’s favorite target this season. In the 16 games Diggs has played he has been targeted 154 times, with a 90.1 PFF grade. This has resulted in 108 catches, 1,429 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 262.6 half-PPR points.

This week he plays an injured Dolphins Secondary, with the third-lowest secondary SIC score (77.6). The last two times Diggs has played the Dolphins, he’s had at least 60 yards. Josh Allen should look to find Diggs early to get them both on track.

Travis Etienne Jr, Projected FanDuel Points 11.96 ($7,100)

Travis Etienne’s role in the Jaguars’ offense continued to grow over the season. The team traded running back Jerome Robinson at the trade deadline to free up touches for Etienne.

He’s been productive with his opportunity as the lead back, going over 100 rushing yards five times since the middle of October, including a 108-yard performance against Houston on New Year’s Day. Etienne season stats were: 1,125 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, and 5.1 YPC.

The Jaguars are facing the Chargers’ rushing defense, which has the lowest SIC score (73.0) in the playoffs, and they are No. 28 in rushing yards allowed per game (145.8).

He’s also been one of quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s outlets in the passing game, with 35 catches for 316 yards. The Chargers have a pass rush that’s just starting to get healthy, and the Jaguars are missing vital offensive linemen. So, Lawrence might lean to Etienne as a quick outlet.

Elijah Mitchell, Projected FanDuel Points 6.27 ($5,500)

The 49ers' backup running back is worth a flier against the Seahawks' poor run defense.

Seattle has allowed over 100 rushing yards in three straight contests, including over 190 rushing yards to the Jets and Rams. Mitchell is finally healthy after two stints on the injured reserve for MCL sprains this season.

He had 55 yards and 2 touchdowns on 5 carries last week against the Cardinals. The Seahawks ranked 30th in the league in rushing yards allowed this season and lost leading tackler Jordyn Brooks to a torn ACL in Week 17.

Tyler Lockett, Projected FanDuel points 10.01 ($7100)

Veteran Seattle receiver Tyler Lockett, SIC score 92, returned from left hand surgery in Week 17 and continued his strong second half with four catches for 54 yards and his seventh touchdown over the last nine games.

The 49ers will likely assign Charvarius Ward to DK Metcalf once again, leaving Lockett as one of the few exploitable mismatches against the No. 2 cornerback slot that carries a 68 SIC score.

In his two games vs. the 49ers – including Week 2 when Trey Lance suffered a fractured ankle and Week 15 when Lockett suffered his fractured hand – the 30-year-old has caught 16 of 20 targets for 175 yards.
