Joel Embiid Reaggravates Injured Left Knee in Game 1

The star center left to the locker-room late in Game 1 against the Knicks in the second quarter after falling awkwardly on left knee following alley-oop to himself off the backboard.

By video analysis, Embiid suffered a possible left knee contusion with a potential re-aggravation of the same issue he has been dealing with all season. This injury is on the same knee as the previous meniscus surgery.

Embiid did start the second half but the expectation is he will not move well around the court as the game progresses. Post-game swelling will likely also be an issue.

Our doctors will continue to monitor the situation.
