What to Expect From Robert Williams III After Return From Knee Surgery

Roughly two and a half months after undergoing his second left knee surgery, Robert Williams III will make his return to the lineup today against the Magic.

Williams will play limited minutes and have to manage his troublesome left knee all season, according to the Pro Basketball Docs.

He carries a SIC score of 67 for the rest of the 22-23 season, indicating that he will play limited minutes for the Celtics and will likely miss back-to-back games.

The 25-year-old center was a crucial defensive piece for Boston last season, averaging 10 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 29.6 minutes over 61 games.

Unfortunately for Williams, it will be tough to match those minutes and production this season, according to the Pro Basketball Docs. After two meniscus surgeries, his knee needs ample time to rest after each game and he needs to be used in short stints.

Nevertheless, his addition will likely be a boost for a Celtics defense that ranks 13th in points allowed this season.

Boston Celtics Finals Odds

Boston (22-7) is at +340 to win the finals, followed by the Bucks at +480 and Suns at +700, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
